Persian decodable Readers: Preorder book bundle: December 2026 Delivery
The First Decodable Reader Series Built for Persian Literacy —
Not Translated Into It
Most Persian-language books for kids in the diaspora were never designed to teach reading — they're stories written for children who already read Persian fluently. If your child is learning Persian as a heritage language, that's a mismatch: sight-word memorization doesn't build the decoding skills that actually create confident readers.
Englisi Farsi Decodable Readers are different. It's a decodable series built from the ground up on the science of reading — the same explicit, systematic phonics approach behind the most effective English literacy programs — and applied for the first time to Persian.
What makes our Persian decodables different?
Each book in the series has a specific job, and none of them can be skipped or reordered — that's the point:
- Book 1 — The Short Vowels: Before your child reads a single word, they learn what the diacritic marks (زبر، زیر، پیش) actually represent — the short vowel sounds hiding above and below Persian letters that most reading materials never explain. This is the missing piece in most heritage-language reading attempts: kids are shown whole words before they understand the marks that build them.

- Book 2 — Moná áb dád: Using only the simplest, most visually distinct letters in the alphabet, your child reads their first real Persian words — starting with the name Mona, then آب (water) and داد (gave). Nothing is introduced here that wasn't explicitly taught in Book 1.

- Book 3 — Anar: Now reading becomes word-building. انار (pomegranate) introduces new letter combinations and starts stretching vocabulary, while staying fully decodable from what's come before.

- Book 4 — Bádám: بادام (almond) consolidates everything — more letters, longer words, and the confidence that comes from sounding out real Persian independently.

Each book only introduces what the last one has already made secure — systematic, explicit, and cumulative, exactly as reading science recommends.
Why parents in the diaspora need this
- Your child speaks Persian at home but has never had a structured path to read it
- Existing Persian children's books assume a reading level your child hasn't built yet
- You want a proven pedagogical method — not just "cute" — behind the language you're passing down
- You're raising bilingual or trilingual kids and want Persian literacy taken as seriously as English literacy
Who it's for
Iranian, Afghan, and Tajik diaspora families raising Persian-speaking or Persian-curious children ages 4–8, whether starting from zero or supplementing home/weekend Persian school.

FAQ
What is a decodable reader? A decodable reader is a book written using only the letter-sounds a child has already been explicitly taught, so they can read every word by sounding it out rather than memorizing or guessing. It's the core tool of the "science of reading" approach to literacy instruction.
Is this the first decodable reader series available outside of Iran for Persian? Yes — this series is designed specifically to bring structured, phonics-based literacy instruction to Persian, a method widely used in English reading instruction but not previously built for Persian heritage learners.
What age is this for? Ages 4–10, or any child beginning to read Persian for the first time, including older beginners.
Do I need to already read Persian to teach with this? None at all. The back of each book has the transliteration in persian English and finglisi so if you aren't fluent yourself you can refer to the index in the back and help correct/teach and guide your children to learn the correct pronunciation and meaning of each word.
What order should we read the books in? In sequence, starting with Book 1. It teaches the short-vowel diacritic marks first, so your child understands why words sound the way they do before they ever try to read one — every book after that builds directly on it.
When will pre-orders ship? [December 2026]. Pre-order pricing is only available until then.
