Free Persian Alphabet Poster: 2-Page Printable Farsi Letter Chart with English Transliteration
The most complete Persian alphabet poster you can download for free
Learning the Persian alphabet shouldn't mean juggling five different charts, a textbook and a dozen browser tabs. The Englisi Farsi Persian Alphabet Poster brings the whole system together in a two-page poster plus a bonus vowel reference page: every letter, every shape it takes, its English sound, and clear explanations of the marks that make Persian readable.
It's free, instant and print-ready, made for Iranian diaspora families who want to keep Persian alive at home.
What's inside
Pages 1 and 2: The Persian letters
- The full Persian (Farsi) alphabet, laid out across two pages
- Every letter shown in its different positions (isolated, initial, medial and final), so you can see exactly how it changes shape when it joins other letters
- The English letter or sound beside each one, using Englisi Farsi's Finglisi transliteration, so you know how to pronounce it
- Clear markings and colour coded for letters that don't connect to the letter that follows
Page 2: Additional marks explained
- Descriptions of the additional explanatory and diacritic marks used in Persian writing
- Plain-English explanations of what each mark does and how it changes a sound

Bonus page: Short and long vowels quick reference
- A one-page guide to Persian short and long vowels
- Easy to pin up next to the alphabet and check while reading
- Ideal for the moment a child (or parent) asks, "Why does this sound different?"
Why this poster is different
Most Persian alphabet charts show the letters and stop. Most transliteration guides show the sounds and skip the letter shapes. This poster brings it all together: letter forms, positions, English equivalents, explanatory marks and a vowel guide, in a compact printable set. It's exclusive to Englisi Farsi, and we haven't found anything that covers this much in so few pages.

Frequently asked questions
Is this Persian alphabet poster really free?
Yes. It's a free digital download from Englisi Farsi. Add it to your cart and check out at $0.
Does it show how Persian letters change shape?
Yes. Each letter is shown in its different positions, so you can see how it changes when it connects inside a word.
What are the additional marks on page 2?
Page 2 explains the extra marks that appear in Persian writing and what each one does to the sound of a word.
What is on the bonus page?
A quick-reference guide to Persian short and long vowels, designed to sit next to the alphabet while you read.
What is Finglisi?
Finglisi is Englisi Farsi's way of writing Persian sounds in English letters. It's a trademarked word that is unique to Englisi Farsi. It's a pronunciation guide, not a third language, and it helps you say each letter and word correctly while you learn to read the script.
Is the Persian alphabet the same as the Farsi alphabet?
Yes. "Persian" and "Farsi" are two names for the same language and the same script, which is based on the Arabic alphabet with four extra letters (پ، چ، ژ، گ). In English we say we are speaking "Persian" but when we are speaking in Persian we say "man fársí Harf mizanam" so we have seen them used interchangeably in literature but technically its only correct to say Persian when you are speaking English.
Is it suitable for young children?
Yes. The layout is clear and works well for early readers and for parents learning alongside them.
